Auf http://www.newtoyork.com/ sieht man ganz am Fuße der Seite folgende warme Begrüßung für Benutzer des Internet Explorers 6:

Honestly, I can't even begin to think about what your entire experience on the internet must be like? (...probably like riding a bike on the highway while cars blow by you on their way to Costco to get gallons of mayonnaise and 60-inch plasma TV's). How will you ever be able to use this website?????? You wont. You're an asshole and your browser is an asshole. So look, I'm going to be honest: I kind of hate you. BUT we c-a-n make this work. Ich kann den Mann ja irgendwie verstehen und ich lache immer noch darüber, während ich das hier blogge. Nicht nur über seine Ausdrucksweise, auch über die technische Umsetzung, mit der er das seinen Besuchern in den RAM schmettert.

Keine User-Agent-Erkennung oder so, um die Ansage wenigstens gezielt nur den IE6-Usern zu präsentieren. Nein, einfach so in den Footer für jeden sichtbar. Dass er XHTML 1.0 strict deklariert und dabei kleine Fehlerchen wie z.B. beim target-Attribut hat, ist dabei nicht mal das schlimmste Problem. Vielleicht sollte er das Layout erst mal auf eine Browserfensterbreite von 1024px ohne horizontalen Scrollbalken optimieren (zumindest im von ihm empfohlenen Browser Safari), bevor er sein M... aufr....

In den letzten 6 Monaten häufen sich die Diskussionen im Netz und in der Offline-Welt, ob man langsam aufhören soll, den IE6 zu unterstützen.
